1) As a reader of magazines and newspapers, how often do you associate articles in the paper with the advertiser next to it (either related to the topic or not)?
   Are advertisers overreacting to the location of their ads or do they have the right to complain?

2) Hachette Filipacchi's David Pecker argues that lowering the wall could actually help solve the issue of censorship.
   Should ad-edit wall actually be brought down for sides to work together on this issue?

3) Was this issue of censorship from advertisers caused from our generation and our tendency to be critical of large companies or was this issue destined to reach this point in journalism?

2) My primary sources of news would include social media outlets such as Twitter and Facebook. I am going to try to be better about getting an online news app so I get reliable news from a trusted source.

5) I would have to say Instagram. I find the idea of taking pictures and then over-editing them to look completely different a waste of time. Over half the time people are either taking selfless, pictures of their food, or a completely unoriginal sunset that everyone has seen before. I just don't get the point of it.

6) Some oldies would be awesome. I a big fan of the Eagles, Hall & Oates, Radiohead, Biggie. Really I am all over the place with my music choice.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles California. More specifically in the Westwood/Holmby Hills area (near UCLA). Coming from such a big city like LA to Madison has been an interesting transition.

My primary source for news is twitter (@cnn)

Currently Breaking Bad is my favorite TV show, but I am also a very big fan of Game of Thrones, Californiacation, and Ray Donovan.  

My favorite catch phrase at the moment is "Turn down for what"

The pop culture phenomenon that annoys me the most is #Tbt. It's just an excuse for social media hungry girls to gain satisfaction through likes and comments.  

I would want Prof. Wells to play anything Radiohead before lecture.

1. I grew up just outside of the Twin Cities in North St. Paul, Minnesota. I know, they got really creative with the name.

2. My primary source of news would have to be Twitter and Facebook, mainly because I'm constantly on them. If there is something important happening or a 'Breaking News' piece catches my eye, I will look into it more. If I venture off social media, its usually to cnn.com.

3. I'm a big fan of Netflix and I tend to watch a lot of it. If I had to narrow it down to my top three favorites they would be Parks and Rec, How I Met Your Mother and The League. I highly recommend all three if you're looking for a good laugh!

4. If you've ever watched Parks and Rec before, one of the characters, Chris Traeger really overuses the word 'literally' and I have definitely caught on. I use it in literally, every sentence.

5. A pop culture phenomenon that I'm really over is vampires. I've got to admit, I was a Twilight fan but its been dragged out a little bit too long. How many different shows or books can they really make? I mean, come on!

6. A little Lana Del Rey or Drake couldn't hurt in the mornings.

1.      I am from Broken Arrow, OK, the biggest suburb of Tulsa.

2.      My primary source for news is an app on my phone that gives me the top ten stories of the day. I also get my breaking news from twitter and facebook.

I was born in Los Angeles but moved to Chapel Hill, NC when I was 3.

2. What is your primary source for news?

I primarily get my news from different social media sources and The Daily Show. Also, as far as news in the world of art and music I check 2DopeBoyz, Striker Lifestyle, and other music blogs.

3. What is your favorite TV show?

My favorite TV show is Breaking Bad, hands down. Never before in my lifetime has the country been so captivated over a show. Also I enjoy Entourage but I’m squarely in their demographic so that’s hardly a choice.

4. What is your favorite catch phrase right now?

5. What pop culture phenomenon is most annoying to you?

I am annoyed by the pop culture phenomenon of making “Blurred Lines” remix videos. I get it, the song is offensive and promotes a negative culture, but one can say the same thing only so many times.

1) I'm a pureblood Wisconsinite, born and raised near Milwaukee in the small village of Greendale.

2) My main source of news is on my phone. I downloaded the NY Times App and it has most of their articles on there. I also enjoy occasionally watching the Colbert Report (I know this is not reliable news but it's entertaining).

3) It's hard to narrow down my favorite TV show to just one. I enjoy a variety of shows including: Breaking Bad, HIMYM (How I met Your Mother), Shark Tank, Duck Dynasty, and the League. This is a very diverse selection of shows but I'm proud of all of them.

4) Any catch phrase from Duck Dynasty is never overused. "Happy, Happy, Happy", "Hey, Jack", and "Go Beard or Go Home" are some of their best pieces of work.

5) Twerking. Apart from the ridiculous dance itself, the lack of self-respect it takes to actual perform the action amazes me. I get that most of the time it is done as a joke, but that still doesn't make it look classy. And sorry ladies, but no guy looks at a girl Twerking and thinks about his future with her.

6) Let's get a little bit of Country in the mix. The biggest transition I've noticed from my hometown to Madison is that nobody likes Country music here. I feel a little out of place when I'm the only one in a room not spitting out lyrics to a "popular" rap song. A little Aaron Lewis, Eric Church, Toby Keith, or Justin Moore would be a nice break.

7) Alright, I don't know if anybody has seen this yet, but despite my previous statements, this rapper is the coolest person alive.

What's up?

1. I was born in Reading, Pennsylvania and moved to Ashland, Pennsylvania when I was 4. I later moved to Mount Prospect, Illinois when I was 10. It's about 20/30 minutes away from Chicago.

2. I use Reddit for all my news and honestly it has kept me informed for just about everything. I'll also use Twitter and the occasional news website. I'll have ESPN up ALL the time.

3. My favorite TV shows are Parks and Recreation, The Office and Game of Thrones.

4. "Pay it forward." Somewhere in your life someone has helped or has been there for you. You never know when you could be that person for someone else.

5. The whole "One Direction" craze really annoys me. Just stop. You aren't marrying any of them. Ever.

6. I'd love me a little Macklemore or Of Monsters and Men. Maybe some Eminem and Zac Brown Band. White Panda and The Killers wouldn't hurt.

The song I REALLY want to be played is the "Oh Yeah" song from Ferris Bueller's Day Off just to see if it would happen and because it would be comical.

7. I enjoy laughing and seeing other people laugh makes me laugh. I really like watching reaction videos and even though the videos are old I laugh every single time.

1. I was born in Miami, Florida but moved to Wisconsin when I was 8. Since then, I've lived in a small town in Wisconsin called Silver Lake.

2. My primary sources of news come from websites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr. I also visit sites such as The New York Times when I hear something I would like to learn more about.

3. My two current favorite television shows are NCIS and Game of Thrones.

4. I don't really use any catch phrases. I guess the closest would be responding with "your mom..." which I do mostly around family members anyway.

5. Although not as popular now, one of the most recent pop culture phenomenons that really annoyed me was the book Fifty Shades of Grey. For one thing, the original story was merely Twilight fan fiction. Another, people seemed to have no problem reading an erotic novel in public.

6.  I really like Imagine Dragons, Neon Trees, and Panic at the Disco, but mostly any music is fine with me too.

7. This song/video seems really bizarre at first, but the more times you see it, the more catchy it seems.

1.       I was born in Jacksonville, Florida, where I lived for about four years. After four years, my family moved to Racine, Wisconsin. Racine is where I was mostly raised and still live today.

 

2.       My primary source for news is mostly the internet and social media. I have recently started reading the Wall Street Journal, though.

 

 

3.       My favorite shows are Breaking Bad, the Walking Dead, and almost anything on Animal Planet.

 

4.       Let’s get weird. I saw it on TV and I think it’s pretty funny, I am not sure why, I just do.

 

 

5.       Twerking. Twerking was sort of funny at first and funny to watch, but it has gotten out of hand. Juicy J is offering a scholarship to the “best twerker” through YouTube and the internet. Enough said.

 

6.       I listen to a lot of different types of music, but I enjoy rap, the 90’s, and Dropkick Murphys

 

7.       I think this show is so funny, but the East West bowls are some of the funniest videos. The show is Key & Peele and is aired on Comedy Central just in case you were interested. They do many skits and are some of the funniest guys I have seen on TV.

1. Where are you from?

I was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, but was raised in Rockton, IL which is an hour from Madison, an hour fifteen minutes from Milwaukee, and an hour and a half from Chicago depending on traffic.

2. What is your primary source for news?

My primary source for news is through social media and phone apps. By using twitter I am able to pinpoint news of interest to me, following publications and websites that I align with. I also am a frequent user of the JSonline app on my phone. I occasionally will read the Wisconsin State Journal online as well as ESPN.com and SportsBusinessJournal.com.

3. What is your favorite TV show?

I have four favorite television shows. Two that have since ceased production are Friday Night Lights and Life, which were both NBC shows dramatically affected by the writer's strike in the mid 2000's. My two current favorite television shows are Mad Men on AMC - because I am fascinated by the late 50's and 60's - and Scandal on ABC.

4. What is your favorite catch phrase right now?

I have never had a catch phrase that I use.

5. What pop culture phenomenon is most annoying to you?

I think all pop culture phenomenons are annoying, so you name one and I won't like it.

1. I was born in Milwaukee, but I moved to Cambridge, Wisconsin when I was 4 and have grown up there. It’s a small town of just over 1,000 people, about 25 minutes from Madison. Cambridge’s only claim to fame is being NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth’s hometown.

2. My primary source for news is social media, particularly Twitter. I also browse MSN and CNN’s websites now and then to read the popular stories.

3. Friends will always be my favorite TV show. Grey’s Anatomy has been a favorite since elementary school as well. I also love Glee, and I recently fell in love with New Girl and Parenthood.

4.  “YOLO” was a favorite catch phrase amongst my high school class. It was our unofficial class motto, and our valedictorian gave a speech at graduation about the catch phrase. So you could say it’s my favorite, for sentimental reasons.

5. I’m suppose I’m annoyed by the obsession over One Direction. I’ve never understood it and I don’t think I ever will.
